Guess Who- CLUES

1st Clue (10 points): In his/her family there was a prominent mathematician.
2nd Clue (9 points): He/She studied in an European University.
3rd Clue (8 points): Before engaging with math, he/she learned english and french to teach languages.
4th Clue (7 points): At the beginning he/she wasn´t allowed to teach at the University.
5th Clue (6 points): He/She met Einstein.
6th Clue (5 points): She/He made groundbreaking contributions to Algebra.
7th Clue (4 points): D. H. was one of his/her teachers.

Guess Who- Rules

Your challenge will be to guess the name of a prominent mathematician.

The rules of the game are the following:
1. A total of 10 clues will be posted, one at a time, by the teachers on the blog.
2. If you guess who it is after the first clue, you’ll be awarded with 10 points.
3. One point will be taken away after each new clue.
4. Whenever you have the answer, you’ll post it on the blog. Don’t forget to post the reasons that made you take that guess.
5. Later in the game you can always change your mind. However, a 3 point penalty will apply each time you do so.
6. If you take a guess and at the end of the game it turns out to be wrong, another 3 point penalty will apply.
7. If you are not sure, you don’t have to take a guess.
8. Whenever you have 8 points, they can be exchanged for 0.5 points in the term. In order for this to apply, you must submit also a short biography of the mathematicians seen in the game.
9. If less than 3 students are right, the winners will get a bonus of 2 points. If there are between 3 and 5 students, they will get a bonus of 1 point. If more than 5 students get the right answer, no bonus will apply.
